Custom Configurations#

Custom Land Layers#

The configuration supports custom raster and vector layers for specialized land use constraints:

custom_land_layers:
  rasters:
    raster_1:
      raster: {}
      class_exclusion: {}
      buffer: {}
      invert: 'False'
  vectors:
    vector_1:
      geometry: {}
      buffer: null
      invert: 'False'

Usage Notes#

  1. Buffer Zones: In the baseline scenario, all buffer zones are set to 0m around protected areas and aeroways.

  2. Technology Selection: The configuration uses moderate cost scenarios from NREL ATB 2024.

  3. Data Sources: All data sources include proper attribution and licensing information.

  4. Regional Customization: Each province/territory can be configured with specific parameters through the sub_region_mapping field.

  5. Time Series: Climate data and capacity factor calculations use 2023 data with hourly resolution.

  6. Quality Control: Multiple tolerance parameters ensure data quality and consistency across different analysis modules.
